Care for local veterans and the local economy could receive a massive boost if Veterans Affairs determines it will build an assisted living facility in Ozark.

Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blankenship said several interested parties have combined resources to present VA an offer to construct the 175-bed facility near U.S. Highway 231 on the northern side of Ozark. Dale Medical Center has offered to donate land near its surgery center at the intersection of Roy Parker Road and U.S. Highway 231, and all interested parties – including utilities companies – have filed letters of support for the project, he added.
