A federal Department of Veterans Affairs clinic in Bainbridge will be moving to Oneonta, an Albany VA representative confirmed Monday.

The VA is in the process of looking for an Oneonta location, but no timeline was indicated by spokesperson Joseph Trusso.

Trusso said that the new clinic would serve a larger community of veterans in a more centralized location that is closer to community hospitals. He also said that it would have more space and better privacy for patients. Trusso noted that the lease for the Bainbridge clinic expires at the end of the year, but can be renewed for up to two years. All Bainbridge patients will be notified individually before the move, he said.
